- I am a mother who deeply loves my children, and I have always loved horses. In Chinese culture, the horse is one of the zodiac animals, and my child was born in the Year of the Horse, which makes this connection feel even more meaningful to our family. Ever since I was young, I have felt happy and inspired whenever I see horses. My father used to joke that horses always bring me good fortune.
My child had some horseback riding experience when he/she was younger, and I would describe the current level as beginner to early intermediate. I hope this camp will help my child build a strong and safe foundation in riding and horsemanship, including confidence, responsibility, discipline, and respect for the horse. We are also interested in schools with strong equestrian traditions, such as The Thacher School, where students learn character and responsibility through caring for a horse.
